Kitty Cloud

Artist Statement

I have had a life long fascination with nature and enjoy painting my surroundings in all seasons. I grew up in a small town in southwestern New Hampshire and much of my childhood was spent exploring the woods of Peterborough in the shadow of Mount Monadnock. When painting this landscape, a very personal relationship develops which is both intimate and compelling. This experience, plus my desire to describe the beauty of these surroundings and the drama of the changing seasons, draws me back again and again.

Working in the colorist tradition of pastel, Kitty Cloud specializes in landscapes of Cape Cod, New Hampshire, and Maine. She attended the Boston Museum School of Fine Arts, and has taken courses at the Cape Cod School of Art in Provincetown and the DeCordova Museum School in Lincoln, MA. A native of Peterborough, NH, Ms. Cloud divides her time between Cape Cod and Peterborough.

Ms. Cloud has exhibited in numerous juried shows and won awards in regional competitions. She is represented by Art3Gallery in Manchester, NH, and the Peterborough Art Academy and Gallery in Peterborough, NH.
