Joyce Collier Fearnside
What I see in nature becomes distilled into print expression.
By age twelve, I was woodcut maker. After many years of experimenting,
I continue to explore printmaking, including reduction and white line
woodcut techniques. Nature inspires me to be found paddling / kayaking
with my sketchpad, hiking with my camera or traveling with an eye to
the next project.
During our summers in Dublin, I watched my father sketch and
paint watercolors. Now residing in Peterborough, I share studio
space with my husband, a furniture maker.
I taught art, printmaking and book arts in various venues for
forty years, and exhibited my work in many New England galleries, and
received numerous awards. Recently, I published an early children's book
entitled "Five Fantastic Frogs".
My prints are found in private collections across America.
