Sheila King
Artist Statement In recent years my chosen painting medium has been egg tempera on panel because of its crispness and luminosity. I also do many drawings in colored pencils, graphite, ink and felt-tipped pen. My work is in response to whatever is happening in my life, externally or internally, while remaining conscious of art history. My intention is to create unique and contemporary images, which are satisfying on a formal level and cause an emotional response in the viewer. For those who are interested in learning more about egg tempera, there will be a brief demonstration of the medium on both Saturday and Sunday at 2:00 during the 2011 Art Tour..
