Artist StatementBiography Photography work has been natural for
me, a channel of peace. Since childhood,
I was always around cameras...My neighbor
was a portrait photographer. It fascinated me
as he moved around. It seemed like music!
I love to work with the special light of early
morning and early evening. I shoot my best
pictures then. It is also the time when the
fish are starting to rise to the surface and the
fly-fishing is good, my other great passion!
Using my camera is like taking an elixir from
the fountain of youth. It energizes me, I
become aware of my surroundings and focus
in on composition. I feel exceptionally lucky
to have this gift. I changed from my 35 mm
film camera to a digital SLR .
I graduated from Boston University with a
degree in Photojournalism. Moving from
Boston to rural Maine and then to New
Mexico, I fell in love with the countryside
and the rural lifestyle. We moved again and
settled in the Monadnock region of New
Hampshire. As my wife pursued her nursing
career I became the stay at home dad for our
two daughters. When they were school age, I
started part-time carpentry, which blossomed
into a building profession lasting for many
successful years. I never put my camera down
and have had the opportunity to travel in
many places, experiencing the different colors
of different landscapes.
