Heather Stockwell
Artist Statement Heather has been making things for her whole life. She studied Art & Ceramics in high school, then went on to study at The Museum School of Fine Arts in Boston, MA. and at Parsons School of Design in Manhattan, NY. There she became increasingly interested in sculpture and three-dimensional design.Heather has mastered many arts and crafts, including stained glass, beading and polymer clay, but she feels that she has finally found her true niche when she dicovered mosaics and tilework. Her work can vary from kitchen and bathroom designs to home & garden accesories, fireplaces, signs, tabletops, murals and other objects of art. The "tesserae" she chooses can also vary widely from italian glass smalti, ceramic tile, shells, natural rocks, gemstones, broken china and found objects.
