Cornelia Grondahl
Artist Statement Cornelia Grondahl is an artist who has worked in many media, but she particularly enjoys the beauty and versatility of paper. In her lyrical paper sculptures, embossed prints, and cards, she is intrigued by the play of light and shadow.Biography A graduate of Carnegie Mellon University (BFA), and University of Iowa (MA), she also studied at the Art Students League in New York and New York Studio School. She has exhibited her work at the Montshire Museum in Norwich, VT, and Frye Art Museum in Seattle, WA. From 1991-95, the Museum of Modern Art in New York published her die-cut card "Dove". Her cards have also sold through the Boston Society for Arts and Crafts, Museum of Arts and Design in New York, Audubon Society, Unitarian Universalist Society, and Shaker Museums. For several years she was a state-juried member of the League of NH Craftsmen and has participated in group shows at the Sharon Art Center in Peterborough, NH. She and her husband raised their family in Woodstock, VT, and Cornelia exhibited and taught art classes at AVA Gallery in Lebanon, NH.
