Artist Statement I use the landscape as a means to examine artistic boundaries. I predominately work in pastel in the plein-air tradition, seeking an understanding of nature, light, and spirituality in my work.Juror Stanley Malzman's Comments (N.E. National Pastel Exhibit): "The skillful handling of the pastel and the juxtaposition of the colors to teach other, transforms an ordinary scene into a glowing landscape. It is worth noting the free handling of the medium." 2007
